| The St. Louis Public Library’s Catalog requires that you provide both your library card
number and your individualized PIN number to place a request or access your information
within the My Account feature. The system uses this combination to make sure unauthorized
access does not occur.
Spaces should not be used when entering your card and PIN
numbers.
If you had a card on December 30, 1998, the system set a 4-digit Personal Identification
Number (PIN) for you by taking the last two number of your birth year and the last two
numbers of your phone number.

New cardholders (registered after December 30, 1998) have their PIN numbers set when they
get their cards.
If you have problems with your pre-set PIN or want to change your PIN number, call
the Library’s Customer Services Department at 539-0373 during normal library hours.
The PIN number may also be changed while visiting any of our locations. It cannot
be changed while visiting our website. We encourage you to change your PIN periodically
to maintain the security of your information.
